This is the 'temple Red' Heritage Majapahit

In Hamlet Jabung, District Paiton, Probolinggo, East Java stands a temple with a different color with Javanese temple in general. The temple is known as Jabung temple is located in the middle of the residential area, and is built on an area of over 20,000 m2.

Jabung temple is patterned Buddhist temple built in honor of the three gods in the trust. While the name 'Jabung' used by local people, was taken from a tree that used to be found in the temple Jabung Area.

Book Negarakertagama noted, King Hayam Wuruk reported to have traveled to the east in the 14th century, and stopped at a village called Kelayu with the intention of offering ceremony. The location is then constructed a Buddha-style building called Sugata Prasista, now known as Temple Jabung. With such records, Jabung temple is believed to be the temple relics of the kingdom of Majapahit.

In the structure of this temple has a length of 13.11 meters with a width reaching 9.85 meters, and 15.58 meters high. Red bricks used to build the temple has a length of about 15 cm, width 25 cm, and has a thickness of about 7 cm.

The temple body Jabung equipped with cubicles measuring 2.6 x 2.58 meters, with a height of 5.52 meters. Inside are statues of worship altar placed. To preserve, not everyone can get into the booth. While in the north, east, and south of the temple there is a false door, which seems to be the entrance to the chamber where the statue of worship.

Unfortunately temple which has been unveiled by the government as a heritage building since 5 November 1987, part of the roof has collapsed. However, the manager assured, given the character of Buddha temple Cabung, then part of the roof of the temple is expected shaped stupa. That belief is supported by the top of the temple Jabung circular, exactly the same as the holder stupa in general.
